24/04/2025

On April 22, 2025, a historic milestone was recorded: the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) affirms its position on the regional and international education map by securing the 136th place in the Asia University Rankings 2025 announced by Times Higher Education (THE). This is a breakthrough milestone for UEH, officially achieving one of its key goals for the 2025-2045 period.

The 2025 THE Asia Rankings evaluated more than 853 universities from 35 countries and territories, based on criteria including: Research Quality; Research Environment; Teaching; Industry (R&D and applied intellectual property); and International Outlook.

With its position at 136 among the best universities in Asia in 2025, this is the highest result among higher education institutions in Vietnam ranked in this assessment. This affirms that UEH can be a "study abroad" option within Vietnam, offering a global standard of education, diverse programs and fields, highly ranked and specialized faculty, and modern facilities that meet international standards for high school students and learners at various levels.

This impressive achievement enables UEH to officially complete one of its key objectives for the 2025-2045 period ahead of schedule: "To be among the top 250 universities in Asia by 2030 and the top 150 by 2045." This not only demonstrates the strong efforts of the UEH community but also reaffirms the multi-disciplinary, diversified, and sustainable development strategy that UEH has been implementing.

"For nearly half a century, UEH has successfully established itself as a key national university, continuously enhancing its ranking position in the region and the world. Now, in this new era, UEH is undergoing a strong transformation to become a Multi-disciplinary and Sustainable University. With unity and determination, today, UEH has achieved one of its many key objectives for the 2025-2045 period: to be among the top 150 universities in Asia. This is a significant achievement for our collective and a launching pad for the strong transformations of the university in the coming period", said Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Đông Phong, Chairman of the University Council.
