Publications of the Institute of Business Research Meet Output Requirements for Domestic PhD Candidates

According to Circular No. 18/2021/TT-BGDDT issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on June 28, 2021, regarding the Regulations on Admission and Training for Doctoral Degrees, one of the graduation output requirements for PhD candidates is:
“Being the main author of a scientific conference report or a scientific article published in publications indexed in Web of Science/Scopus; or a reference book chapter published by a prestigious international publisher; or an article published in domestic scientific journals assigned a maximum evaluation score of 0.75 points or higher by the State Council for Professorship according to the training field; or a monograph published by prestigious domestic and international publishers. The candidate’s publications must achieve a total score of 2.0 points or higher based on the maximum score set by the State Council for Professorship for each type of work (without splitting points for co-authorship), and must be relevant and contribute significantly to the research results presented in the dissertation.”
To assist PhD candidates in meeting the output standards of the Doctoral program under the aforementioned regulations, the Institute of Business Research is currently implementing and publishing the following works:
  • The Institute collaborates in editing special issues of journals listed in ISI/Scopus, such as: Asian Journal of Law and Economics (De Gruyter Publisher) – Scopus, Journal of Economic Development (Chung-Ang University) – Scopus, International Review of Financial Analysis (SSCI), The Singapore Economic Review (World Scientific) – SSCI, and Resources Policy Journal – ISI – SSCI.
These journals sponsor the annual International Conference on Business and Finance (ICBF), hosted by the Institute of Business Research. Participating in the conference serves as a foundation and opportunity for papers to receive professional feedback for refinement, as well as support to enhance both content and language quality to meet publication standards for special issues in these journals.
  • The Institute annually leads the publication of the book series Vietnam and the Global Economy, published by World Scientific Singapore (a prestigious international publisher as designated in the list of the State Council for Professorship).
  • Since 2021, the Institute of Business Research has led the publication of the Monograph Book Series on Economics and Business to carry out scientific research on economic and business topics, providing scientific evidence for economic policy formulation.
The publications mentioned above fully help PhD candidates studying in domestic programs in Vietnam satisfy one of the output requirements specified in Circular 18. Candidates can view detailed information for each publication here.
The Institute of Business Research constantly strives to refine and implement more activities and publications to accompany PhD candidates on their journey of academic career development and research capacity enhancement.
