University of Lincoln, UK accompanies UEH in scientific research and training

On September 27, 2021, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and University of Lincoln, UK held a ceremony to introduce the comprehensive cooperation program between the two universities within the framework of ICBF 2021.

University of Lincoln had the participation of Professor Craig Mash - Vice-Chancellor and Director of Lincoln International Business School, Associate Professor Quach Manh Hao - Program Director, Professor Siobhan Goggin, Dr. Shrabani Saha, Dr. Denis Olila, Dr. Kim Nguyen, Dr. Geeta Lakshmi, Dr. Ishak Demir with many professors of the university.
On the UEH side, there were Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council, Head of project steering committee, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of Advisory Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Viet Tien - Director of CFVG, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of the JABES journal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Mai Dong - Head of Human Resource Management Department, Assoc.Prof. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Dean of ISB, Prof. Vo Xuan Vinh - Dean of Institute of Business Research, Head of Program Executive Board, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - In charge of the Research Administration and International Relations Department, other professors and PhD candidates of the program.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Nguyen Dong Phong emphasized: “UEH aims to be a multidisciplinary university with an academic reputation in the Asian region. The cooperation with University of Lincoln - Top 20 leading universities in the UK is an opportunity for UEH professors and students to improve their skills and develop research capability, to receive international standard training programs and it is an important highlight in the development strategy of the university".
The speech of Professor Craig Mash: “We hope that this partnership will develop more and become more sustainable in the fields of training, research, student exchange, professor exchange, and co-organization of international conferences. This comprehensive cooperation aims to promote the development potential of the two universities, and it is an opportunity for academic and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and the UK”.
Dr. Bui Quang Hung said: “We would like to sincerely thank the University of Lincoln for attending the ICBF Conference 2021 hosted by UEH. This symposium is really a valuable opportunity for UEH lecturers to interact and learn from new research. UEH hopes to continue to accompany and cooperate with Lincoln to organize more academic exchange events like this in the future.”
During the symposium, professors from the University of Lincoln, UK shared their new research on monetary policy, agricultural insurance, immigration and development, and many other topics in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The symposium took place with active participation and discussion from UEH professors to contribute ideas and exchange research experiences.
In addition, UEH also held a Welcoming Ceremony to welcome the first PhD students of the PhD partnership program in Economics - Management between UEH and University of Lincoln. In the ceremony, Dr. Eric Ruto - University of Lincoln shared specific information about the program and answered questions of the PhD students. The PhD program in Economics - Management is a program that attracts the attention of many PhD candidates with scholarships up to 50% and with many opportunities to participate in international research and publication. In terms of training, UEH and University of Lincoln, UK also cooperate in a Bachelor Program with an education period within 3 years (1 year at UEH and 2 years at Lincoln), a degree of international value awarded by Lincoln University. (For details, please consult this <link>)
