On May 16, 2025, the Institute of Business Research (IBR) of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) had the honor of welcoming representatives from the University of Huddersfield (United Kingdom) for a visit and working session.
The meeting focused on discussing potential cooperation opportunities between the two institutions, particularly in the field of joint and collaborative training programs.
Representing the Institute of Business Research were Prof. Vo Xuan Vinh, Director of IBR; Assoc. Prof. Tran Dang Khoa, Director of the Business Administration Program; Mr. Le Tran Tuan Anh, Team Leader at IBR; and Mr. Pham Quoc Thy, Program Secretary. Representing the University of Huddersfield was Mr. James Leadbetter, Regional Manager for Southeast Asia.
During the meeting, Mr. Pham Quoc Thy presented an overview of the establishment, as well as the current research, consultancy, and training activities of the Institute of Business Research. Subsequently, Mr. Le Tran Tuan Anh shared UEH’s overall strategic vision and IBR’s specific orientation toward strengthening international cooperation, particularly the aspiration to collaborate with prestigious universities worldwide such as the University of Huddersfield—an institution recognized for its strong applied focus and close engagement with industry, especially in business-related disciplines.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Khoa chaired an in-depth discussion on the possibility of mapping existing IBR training programs with corresponding programs at the University of Huddersfield to identify similarities and explore opportunities for developing joint or articulation programs that meet the learning needs of students in Vietnam.

Overview of the meeting
The meeting took place in an open and productive atmosphere, highlighting the strong potential for cooperation between the Institute of Business Research and the University of Huddersfield. Both sides expressed their keen interest in developing joint initiatives to provide international-standard learning and professional development opportunities for students, managers, and experts in Vietnam.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue further exchanges of detailed information regarding training programs. This represents a positive step toward laying the foundation for a potential partnership between the Institute of Business Research and the University of Huddersfield in the near future.
