On August 23, 2026, the Institute of Business Research (IBR) hosted an Info Session on the Joint PhD Program between UEH and the University of Lincoln (UK). The event drew interest from lecturers, researchers, and prospective candidates.

One of the topics receiving key attention at the Info Session was the requirement for on-site study in the UK. According to information shared at the program, PhD candidates are required to spend a minimum of 10 weeks studying directly at the University of Lincoln. This period can be divided into two separate visits, which candidates can arrange according to their personal schedules.

The Lincoln-UEH Joint PhD Program is an international joint program approved by competent authorities and fully compliant with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. The PhD degree is conferred by the University of Lincoln, while UEH issues a certificate of completion for the joint training program in accordance with regulations.

A key highlight of the program is the co-supervision model featuring faculty members from both UEH and the University of Lincoln. Candidates receive guidance throughout their thesis journey while regularly updating their research progress through the University of Lincoln’s system. Instead of focusing on fixed weekly classes, the program emphasizes self-directed research capacity and proactivity under the guidance and support of academic supervisors from both institutions.

Beyond the curriculum structure, the program actively fosters an environment for candidates to develop research capability and academic publishing. Candidates are encouraged to develop their research for international publication and are eligible for full reward/funding policies for international publications equivalent to UEH faculty members.
