Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the Lincoln 1+2 Bachelor’s Degree Program, jointly offered by the University of Lincoln (United Kingdom) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH).

Is the degree awarded through the Lincoln 1+2 Program recognized in Vietnam?

Yes. The degree is awarded by the University of Lincoln, a well-established UK university whose qualifications are internationally recognized. Graduates receive the same bachelor’s degree awarded to students studying at the University of Lincoln.

How can graduates have their degree recognized for use in Vietnam?

The recognition of foreign higher education qualifications in Vietnam is governed by Circular No. 13/2021/TT-BGDDT, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on 15 April 2021, which regulates the conditions, procedures, and authority for recognizing degrees awarded by foreign educational institutions.

Under this regulation, degrees awarded through approved international collaborative programs delivered in Vietnam may be recognized in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.

The Lincoln 1+2 Program is implemented under the approval authority granted to the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in accordance with the Law on Higher Education (Law No. 34/2018/QH14) and other applicable regulations.

Graduates wishing to obtain formal recognition of their degree in Vietnam should follow the procedures specified in Circular No. 13/2021/TT-BGDDT.

Which authority approves the Lincoln 1+2 Program?

In accordance with Decree No. 86/2018/ND-CP on foreign cooperation and investment in education, autonomous higher education institutions in Vietnam are authorized to approve international collaborative programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.

As an autonomous university, UEH is authorized to approve and implement this collaborative bachelor’s degree program in accordance with current Vietnamese regulations.

What if I do not have an IELTS score of 5.5?

Applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirement may take the English Placement Test organized by the program to assess their English proficiency.

How are applicants selected?

Applicants may be admitted through one of the following pathways:

  • Admission based on the Vietnam National High School Graduation Examination, provided the applicant meets the minimum required score and the program’s English language requirement; or
  • Admission based on high school academic transcripts, in accordance with UEH’s admission regulations.

What are the progression requirements for Year 2?

To progress to the University of Lincoln, students must:

  • Successfully complete all Year 1 modules at UEH with a minimum score of 50% (equivalent to 5.0/10) for each module.
  • Achieve an IELTS score of 6.0, with no individual band below 5.5, or satisfy the equivalent English language requirement specified by the University of Lincoln.

Does the program provide visa support for studying in the UK?

Yes.

The program provides administrative support throughout the visa application process and assists students in preparing the necessary documentation for their studies in the United Kingdom.

In addition, visa application service fees provided by IDP are sponsored by the University of Lincoln for students enrolled in the program.

Please note that the final decision regarding visa approval is made solely by the relevant UK immigration authorities, and applicants remain responsible for meeting all visa requirements.

When are classes held?

Classes are normally scheduled on weekdays, according to the official academic timetable published by the program.

Where will I study during Year 1?

Students complete their first year at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and may attend classes at one of the following campuses:
