The program is built upon UK standards, focusing on developing independent research capacities and creating new knowledge.
Training Specializations
The program concentrates on 2 main research directions:
Training Modes and Duration
The entire research and dissertation writing process is conducted in English.
- Full-time Track: Minimum 24 months, standard completion 36 months, maximum 60 months. Requires spending at least 35 hours/week on research.
- Part-time Track: Minimum 48 months, standard completion 72 months, maximum 96 months. Requires spending at least 17.5 hours/week on research.
- Note: Candidates cannot submit their thesis before the minimum duration required for each track.
Supervisors:
Candidates are co-supervised by two lecturers (one from UOH, one from UEH), helping your thesis hit international standards while retaining practical applications in Vietnam.
Requirements for Candidates:
- Candidates are required to meet their supervisors at least once a month for full-time tracks and once every two months for part-time tracks.
- Self-study arrangements will be agreed upon between the candidate and supervisors. The combined self-study and guidance time should equal roughly 35 hours per week for full-time research and 17.5 hours per week for part-time research.
Degree & Certification:
Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the University of Huddersfield, and a certificate of program participation by UEH.
Supervisory Faculty:
- Representative of the Joint Program Management Board: Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh.
- The teaching and supervisory staff are selected from the faculties of the University of Huddersfield and UEH to match the research orientation of the candidate.
