Institute of Business Research - UEH and University of Leicester explore opportunities for expanding academic and research collaboration

On the afternoon of August 7, 2025, the Institute of Business Research – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) held an online meeting with representatives from the University of Leicester (United Kingdom), initiating meaningful directions for collaboration in undergraduate education and interdisciplinary research. This exchange is part of UEH’s broader internationalization strategy, aimed at strengthening global academic connections and expanding educational partnerships in response to increasing globalization in higher education.
 
The meeting was attended by Prof. Vo Xuan Vinh - Dean of the Institute of Business Research, MSc. Le Tran Tuan Anh, and other members of the Institute. Representing the University of Leicester were Prof. James Fitchett – Deputy Head of the College of Business, and Assoc. Prof. Abdul Jabbar – Dean of Internationalisation.
 
The University of Leicester is a prestigious UK public university known for its strong emphasis on research and innovation in teaching. It is recognized as a leading research institution in the UK, with particular strengths in Business, Social Sciences, Health, and Data Science. In 2025, the University was named “University of the Year” by the Daily Mail University Guide and ranked 25th in the UK and 191st globally according to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025.
 
Previously, on July 28, 2025, UEH and the University of Leicester officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at UEH Campus A, with the participation of senior leadership from both institutions and representatives from the British Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The signing marked a significant milestone in UEH’s internationalization journey and opened up numerous opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and academic exchange.

During the online meeting, Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh and the representatives from the University of Leicester shared a common vision in developing internationally oriented academic programs and discussed potential joint initiatives in interdisciplinary research and future educational cooperation.
 
The partnership with the University of Leicester - a top-tier research university in the UK - further affirms the Institute of Business Research and UEH’s commitment to international integration. It also opens up greater opportunities for Vietnamese students and researchers to engage in global-standard learning and academic development.
 
This collaboration represents an important step in UEH’s journey toward building a dynamic international education ecosystem - where each academic program is thoughtfully designed to integrate academic knowledge, practical application, and innovation, contributing to sustainable development and community value.
