UEH held a Welcoming Ceremony to introduce the partnership program with the University of Leicester, UK

On September 28, 2021, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the University of Leicester, UK, held a Welcoming Ceremony to introduce the International Partnership Program between the two universities.

Attending the ceremony on the University of Leicester's (UoL) side were Professor James Delvin - Dean of School of Business, Professor Dan Ladley - Deputy Dean of School of Business, Professor Katharine Venter - Program Director UoL professors, and Leicester School of Business professors.

On the UEH side, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the University Council, Head of the project steering committee, Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of Advisory Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Viet Tien - Director of CFVG, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of the JABES journal, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Mai Dong - Head of Human Resource Management Department, Assoc. Prof. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Dean of ISB, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen – Vice Head in charge of the Research Administration and International Relations Department, together with the management of faculties and departments, lecturers, Ph.D. students and candidates.

On the part of the Executive Board of the partnership project with the University of Leicester, there were Assoc. Prof. Ho Viet Tien - Dean of the Institute of Graduate Training - Head of the Executive Board; along with members of the Executive Board: Prof. Vo Xuan Vinh - Dean of the Institute of Business Research; Dr. Ngo Quang Huan - Head of the Faculty of Management.

UEH and UoL have agreed to multifaceted cooperation, including all activities of education partnership program and intensive research cooperation, exchange of professors and students, recognition of degree value, acknowledgment of subjects and programs of study, and co-organizing international conferences. The ICBF is organized by the two universities every year, and the Ph.D. program in Social Sciences is a testament to this long-term and sustainable partnership.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. James Devlin shared, "We are always looking for professional partners in the working process, qualified lecturers. UEH has completely convinced us by all its achievements in the field of training and research. UEH has always held the leading position in Vietnam for many years, helping UoL have absolute confidence in the partner's capability."

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong emphasized: "We are always proud to be accompanying and cooperating with the University of Leicester, the UK in recent years. The cooperation will further promote the development potential between the two universities and be an opportunity for UEH professors and students to exchange and learn from experience in educating, researching and studying with the leading university in the UK."

At the Welcoming Ceremony, Professor Katharine Venter - University of Leicester, UK shared the Doctor of Social Sciences Program of the University of Leicester, UK, a partnership program between UoL and UEH. This program is an opportunity for Ph.D. candidates to access an international education program in Vietnam, with a Doctoral degree of global value awarded by the University of Leicester.

The Doctor of Social Sciences program brings much meaning to the bilateral cooperation relations between the two universities. It is an opportunity for cultural exchange, academic development, and teaching and research experience between professors and Ph.D. students. On this occasion, at the Welcoming Ceremony, the program's Executive Board also welcomed the first Ph.D. student of the program, expected to enroll in October 2021.
