STUDENT MANAGEMENT

Dear PhD Candidates,

With the desire to continuously improve the quality of the learning and research experience for PhD candidates within the framework of the International Joint Program with the University of Lincoln, the Program Executive Board always listens to and appreciates all your feedback and contributions. This feedback serves as the foundation for us to promptly provide appropriate support solutions, aiming to best meet the learning and research needs of our candidates.

During your studies, the Program Executive Board would like to send you some important information and mandatory requirements according to the regulations as follows:

1. Registering the Study and Research Schedule in the UK

  • Mandatory requirement: PhD candidates must complete a minimum of 10 weeks of study and research in the UK during their course (no limit on the number of trips to the UK).
  • Registration period: Please register your UK study schedule with the Program Executive Board and complete the procedures according to the process below:

Procedure for registering trips to the UK:

  • Determine the timeframe for the UK visit: Choose a suitable timeframe aligned with your study and research plan.
  • Send a confirmation email: Send an email announcing the time, work content, and working schedule in the UK to:
    • The supervisor at the University of Lincoln.
    • The UEH supervisor (cc Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh, email: vinhvx@ueh.edu.vn, and the Program Executive Board, email: phd.lincoln@ueh.edu.vn).
  • Confirmation from the Lincoln supervisor: After the Lincoln supervisor agrees on the working period, please notify the program via email at phd.lincoln@ueh.edu.vn with the schedule and attached evidence.
  • Apply for an Academic Visa: After receiving the Letter from the Lincoln supervisor, please proceed to apply for a Visa. Note: It is advisable to prepare early to ensure a smooth trip.
  • Post-trip report: After the trip concludes, please submit a “Post-trip report” along with the supporting evidence <HERE>. These documents will be used by the Executive Board to complete relevant procedures.

2. Updating Study Progress Information

  • Requirement: Candidates need to update their study and research progress with the Executive Board for the annual reappraisal of scholarship levels.
  • Timing: Information will be updated periodically twice a year in June and December.
  • Purpose: To ensure fairness and create motivation for the efforts and achievements attained by each candidate.

Please register your UK schedules and update your study progress via the program’s email.
