Admissions Process

The Leicester – UEH Joint Doctoral Programme operates a structured admissions process designed to ensure that applicants are well prepared for doctoral study.

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Applicants should:

• Submit the complete set of required application documents electronically via the online application system.
• Deliver the complete hard – copy application package to the Programme Office.

Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Step 2: Initial Application Screening

The Admissions Office conducts a preliminary review to ensure that all eligibility requirements and supporting documents have been met.

Estimated processing time: Approximately 2 weeks after receipt of the application.

Step 3: Academic Assessment

Eligible applications are evaluated by the UEH Admissions Committee, including an assessment of the applicant’s academic background, research proposal, and overall suitability for doctoral study.

Estimated processing time: 30–45 days after submission.

Step 4: Admission Interview

Shortlisted applicants are invited to attend an interview with the Admissions Committee. During the interview, candidates will discuss their research interests and potential supervisory arrangements.

Interviews may be conducted on campus or online, where appropriate.

Step 5: University of Leicester Review

Applications recommended by UEH are forwarded to the University of Leicester for final academic evaluation and approval.

The review period varies depending on the quality of the application, the research proposal, and the availability of suitable academic supervisors.

Successful applicants will receive an Official Offer of Admission from the University of Leicester.

Step 6: Enrolment

Applicants who accept the offer are required to:

• Complete the enrolment procedures.
• Pay the required tuition fees.
• Officially commence the doctoral programme.

Following successful enrolment, candidates become registered doctoral students of the Leicester – UEH Joint Doctoral Programme.
