The 35th Asian Finance Association International Conference (AsianFA) was successfully organized by the Institute of Business Research at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH).

The Asian Financial Association (AsianFA) was formed in 1993 through the merger of the Asia Pacific Financial Association and the Pacific-Basin Financial Management Society. Every year, at the end of June or the beginning of July, the Association organizes rotating international conferences in countries in the Asia Pacific region under the chairmanship of local universities to bring together scientists, scholars, and researchers in finance and economics from around the world to share research and exchange ideas and information on new developments in financial research. The Asian Finance Association (Asian FA) International Conference was held in Vietnam for the first time in 2019, at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). UEH is privileged to have the role as the primary host of this international event.

Following the success of the Asian FA International Conference 2019, on June 26-27, 2023, the Institute of Business Research - the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) hosted the Asian FA International Conferences  at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with the Asian Financial Association. The Institute of Business Research - UEH was honored to welcome nearly 300 scientists, researchers, and experts in finance and economics from around the world to the conference.

Prof. Vo Xuan Vinh, representing the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the domestic and foreign speakers, scientists, and researchers who contributed to the articles and came to the workshop. Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh also expressed gratitude to the school's leaders and sponsors for their significant contributions to the program's success.

The Asian FA 2023 Conference has created a great buzz by attracting more than 600 articles in all fields of finance, corporate finance,... with the participation of two main speakers, Prof. Sumit Agarwal - National University of Singapore (NUS), and Prof. Roni Michaely - Hong Kong Business University, as well as two world-famous journals, International Review of Finance, Pacific Basin Finance Journal to publish the conference. Registration, with over 300 papers approved and the direct participation of over 240 researchers and scientists from international training and research institutions.

During the two-day conference, keynote speakers presented research topics of interest to the scientific community as well as shared experiences in empirical and quantitative research on the main topics of finance, corporate finance, corporate governance, derivatives, financial crises, financial intermediation, international finance, sustainable finance, and the microstructure of financial markets. The Conference's Organizing Committee, in particular, presented 04 Best Paper Awards to international and domestic authors presenting innovative ideas in the field of finance, including three awards sponsored by the Asian Finance Association and one sponsored by the Pacific Basin Finance Journal.

The Asian FA 2023 International Conference was successfully hosted by the Institute of Business Research – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, bringing many practical scientific values in the fields of finance and economics. At the same time, the Conference's success has contributed to the creation of an environment advantageous to academic exchange and in-depth international research at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in particular, and in Vietnam in general.
