University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City co-hosts the International Conference on Finance 2024 (VICIF 2024)

On July 1-2, 2024, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) successfully collaborated with Foreign Trade University, University of Danang - University of Economics, International University - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, VinUni, and the Vietnam International Finance Association to organize the 8th International Conference on Finance (VICIF 2024) at the Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel (Ho Chi Minh City).

The VICIF 2024 conference is an annual academic event presided over by Professor Phan Van Hieu (University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA) and Professor Vo Xuan Vinh, Dean of Institute of Business Research at UEH.

Professor Võ Xuân Vinh Delivers a Speech at the VICIF 2024 Conference

VICIF is recognized as one of the largest academic conferences on finance in Vietnam and aims to be ranked among the leading academic conferences in Asia. Notably, VICIF serves as a forum that brings together many Vietnamese scholars working at prestigious universities around the world.

The conference was honored to feature a keynote address by Professor Kai Li, a member of the Royal Society of Canada (2022), Chair in Business Governance and Finance W. Maurice Young at UBC Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. Her research has been published in leading academic journals in finance, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, and Journal of International Business Studies.

The conference program included over 50 presentations by scholars, covering contemporary topics in finance such as corporate governance and control, asset valuation and management, investment and fund management, finance and sustainability, financial technology, banking and financial regulation, behavioral finance, risk management, quantitative finance, family finance, and consumer protection.

Additionally, the program featured several workshops on research methodologies and the application of artificial intelligence in finance at UEH, attracting a large number of young researchers and doctoral candidates.
