
Seminar #2: ““Collaborative Case Research on Asian Organizations”

Following the success of the seminar titled "Analysis of Sustainable Development," held on March 18, 2024, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in collaboration with the Institute for Business Research (VNCKD) and the School of Management (SOM) proudly continues its 2024 seminar series with Seminar #2, which achieved remarkable success under the theme "Collaborative Case Research on Asian Organizations," scheduled for May 24, 2024.
The presentation by Associate Professor Sia Siew Kien from the Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, captivated the active participation of 20 faculty members, doctoral candidates, graduate students, and undergraduates from UEH, creating an academically vibrant and enriching atmosphere.
In his opening remarks, Professor Võ Xuân Vinh emphasized that this event is a professional activity within the series designed to connect research with practice at the Institute for Business Research. With the involvement of leading researchers in the field, the Institute will continue to promote practical activities aimed at providing valuable insights, enhancing research quality, and fostering international collaboration.
Following the program, Associate Professor Sia provided an in-depth overview of his research, focusing on how businesses develop digital business strategies to combat cybercrime and transform digitalization barriers into growth opportunities. Based on case studies, he illustrated the key challenges faced by businesses undergoing digital transformation, particularly highlighting the transformation journey of the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS), recognized as the "World's Best Bank."
Other topics, including digital transformation, sustainable development, and net-zero initiatives, also garnered attention and discussion throughout the seminar. Additionally, he outlined the framework for digital transformation from B2C to B2B models and within the governmental context. Ultimately, Associate Professor Sia shared his perspectives on the next wave of digital transformation in the context of emerging technologies and ever-evolving business dynamics, promising to provide new knowledge and insights for attendees.
The session concluded on a high note, filled with enthusiasm and inspiration, marking the beginning of many collaborative projects and potential research initiatives in the future. The Institute of Business Research takes pride in its achievements and eagerly anticipates further expanding its collaborative network with top global professors and experts, with the hope of not only advancing specialized research areas but also making tangible contributions to the community and society.
