On March 9, Institute of Business Research successfully held the seminar titled "Orientation for Sustainable Development of Vietnam’s Economy in the Context of Globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution," with the participation of 27 esteemed faculty members, students, and business representatives.

Opening the seminar, Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, on behalf of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, warmly welcomed and thanked the experts and researchers for attending the seminar.

Three speakers presented on the following topics:

  1. Speaker: MSc. Mai Xuan Duc presented on Topic 1: "Some Issues on Globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

  2. Speaker: MSc. Nguyen Phan Truc Phuong presented on Topic 2: "Vietnam After 35 Years of Renovation and Current Challenges."

  3. Speaker: Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh presented on Topic 3: "Orientation for Sustainable Development of Vietnam’s Economy in the Context of Globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

The seminar highlighted that "sustainable development" has long been a universal goal for countries worldwide. A nation's sustainable development is closely linked to its capacity to protect and manage environmental issues during the economic growth process. The environment serves as a crucial pillar of sustainable development, acting both as a space for economic development and as a resource input for that process. Despite the achievements made, small and medium-sized enterprises still face inherent limitations such as accessing loans, management capacity, difficulties in obtaining production inputs, and challenges in accessing policies.

The seminar received numerous questions and lively exchanges from delegates and managers, all acknowledging that the discussions and contributions highlighted the necessity of designing, integrating, and monitoring sustainable development goals. This consistency between policy and action is vital for achieving sustainable development for the benefit of humanity.

Through this seminar, the Business Research Institute at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City aims to organize more discussions on economic issues, enhancing research quality and integrating training to contribute to the development of Vietnamese scientific products to reach global standards.
