Institute of Business Research Organizes Seminar on "The Role of FDI in Vietnam's Economic Development"

On October 1, the Institute of Business Research successfully held the seminar titled “The Role of FDI in Vietnam's Economic Development,” with the participation of 28 esteemed faculty members, students, and business representatives.
Opening the seminar, Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, on behalf of the University of Economics, warmly welcomed and thanked the experts and researchers from the university and various businesses for attending the seminar titled "The Role of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Economic Development - Lessons for Vietnam."
Three speakers presented on the following topics:
Speaker: MSc. Nguyen Phan Truc Phuong presented on Topic 1: "Overview of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)."
Speaker: MSc. Mai Xuan Duc presented on Topic 2: "The Role of FDI in the Economy."
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh presented on Topic 3: "Policy Orientation for Attracting FDI - Lessons for Vietnam."
During the seminar, the speakers focused on discussing the role of the FDI sector in Vietnam's economy, the current state of FDI attraction, and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of FDI capital. Attendees raised various questions, which were addressed regarding FDI-related issues. This facilitated the identification of solutions to improve the quality and practical effectiveness of FDI attraction, emphasizing the need for healthy investment practices, creating a clean investment environment, enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises, increasing export turnover, and protecting the environment to contribute to sustainable development goals.
Through this seminar, Institute of Business Research at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City aims to organize more discussions on economic issues and enhance training efforts that contribute to the development of Vietnamese scientific products to reach global standards.
